URL or Uniform Resource Locator is a  reference to a web resource that specifies its location on a computer network. It decides a location to a specific page/image/video or resource in general on the web. Here you can see that URL comprised of several components.

The protocol over which data is sent between your browser and the website that you want to connect. Here "s" at the end of https mean secure communication between your browser and the website are convert ordinary language into code.
